This is a brilliant TED talk on how you may be able to create some changes that may make a difference if you have type II diabetes. Here is the link to watch.
This great doctor is not talking about the hardest things – she is talking about empowering yourself and taking control about what and how you eat carbohydrates. This really could make a great difference.
I get the fact that it can be wonderful to eat processed or refined food and it can ease our busy lives. But often, it is just this that creates the greater risk to our bodies.
Taking time to prepare clean, fresh food that is cooked from scratch is by far the best. If your body has become insulin resistant (as in the case of Diabetes type II) eating carbohydrates can aggravate your problem and the more we aggravate this the more resistant to insulin we can become.
Reversing this hard and you need to be determined, but it IS possible.
The pharmaceutical companies want you to keep taking the medication for ever.
Obviously, speak to your GP before making any big changes and be sensible.
