Staff Profiles
James Dodd BSc (Hons) Ost
Practice Principal

Born
1967, James graduated in 1999 from the London School of Osteopathy
where he completed a Batchelor of Science honours degree in Osteopathy.
James’ osteopathic training involved a five-year course, integrating an
extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, orthopaedics,
neurology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, pharmacology and clinical
methods such as x-ray analysis.
He is also trained in Western (Medical) Acupuncture and can combine this with osteopathic treatment to further the benefit.
James
is fascinated by the body’s potential for healing and specializes in
the treatment of acute injuries and some chronic pain syndromes. He
also has a special interest in sports specific injuries. Many injuries
are exacerbated by the office environment but can be overcome or
improved by a combination of osteopathic treatment, preventative
exercise and ergonomic and postural advice. James welcomes referrals
from doctors and other practitioners wanting either a second opinion or
a different approach when progress is proving difficult.
James
teaches at the London School of Osteopathy one day a week, lectures
about ‘Back Care’ in workshops and at gyms and often has other
practitioners and trainees in to observe. James is keen to keep abreast
with current development in the world of healthcare and this is
reflected in his practice. James’ ethos in life is ‘Look after your
body and it will look after you!’
He lives near the clinic with his wife Annie and two daughters Isabelle and Jessica.

Atlanta Kyte BSc Hons (Cell and Mol Path) BSc Hons (Ost)

Atlanta
Kyte is a graduate of the British School of Osteopathy (2002) and is a
registered osteopath. Before becoming an Osteopath she worked as a
cellular pathologist conducting scientific research at the University
of Cape Town. She was on her way to doing a PHD when she decided to
switch careers - swapping a microscope for working with people and
studying the dynamic human body and all its magic.
After
graduating with a BSc Hons (Osteopathy) she spent two years working in
a multi disciplinary clinic in Bristol where she gained experience in
treating athletes, some who compete at international and Olympic level.
She is confident in treating sports injuries.
Since
returning to London she has been working alongside GP’s and medical
consultants at the South Westminster Health Centre gaining valuable
clinical and diagnostic skills. Atlanta has enjoyed working with the
medics and educating them about how Osteopathy can help patients, often
where modern medicine can’t.
Atlanta
has experience in treating and rehabilitating work related disorders
such as repetitive strain injuries from computer work and can give
advice on office ergonomics. She has also attended a course on whiplash
injuries and has had good results in treating chronic injuries.
Atlanta
has a specialist interest in visceral osteopathy and is enjoying
success in helping people with conditions such as IBS. Osteopaths don’t
just treat backs!
Atlanta will
always look at the broader picture when assessing dysfunction, taking
into consideration factors such as lifestyle stresses. As an
experienced osteopath she will create an individual management plan
designed to empower the patient.
Atlanta thinks of herself as an all rounder and likes to ‘find the health’ in everybody.
