ABOUT OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy
is a way of detecting and treating damaged parts of the body such as
muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints. When the body is balanced and
efficient, just like a well-tuned engine, it will function with the
minimum of wear and tear, leaving more energy for living. Osteopathy is a 'hands on' manual therapy and one of the oldest approaches to treatment of injuries in the joints, muscles ligaments, fascia and tendons.
Treatment
can improve many parts of the body by restoring normal movement in
areas that have become dysfunctional. This allows the tissues to
nourish, replenish and repair themselves more naturally.
Osteopathy
is a system of complete medical practice, based on the principle that
health depends on the maintenance of proper relationships among the
various parts of the body.
With
their hands osteopaths identify abnormalities within the human
structure and function. They then facilitate the body's ability to heal
itself through a variety of stretching, mobilizing and manipulative
techniques. With added exercises and health advice, osteopaths help to
reduce the symptoms and improve your health and quality of life. If
required, the osteopath may recommend x-rays or further investigations. |
